Principal Airworthiness Engineer
1.Responsible for planning airworthiness activities for flight control and avionics systems; prepare compliance checklists and specialty certification plans (CP).
2.Conduct compliance assessments and evaluations for airworthiness verification activities within avionics system simulation analysis, functional testing, system installation testing, software/hardware development, and system safety assessment processes; review airworthiness compliance documentation.
3.Lead specialized airworthiness technology research, particularly technology research related to airborne equipment.
4.Oversee the overall management of airworthiness reviews and certification for various systems and suppliers.
5.Coordinate and implement requirements from airworthiness authorities, DERs (Designated Engineering Representatives), and customers regarding airworthiness reviews.
6.Evaluate and monitor supplier design assurance systems and airworthiness compliance.
7.Conduct preliminary or formal airworthiness reviews for flight control and avionics systems/subsystems/equipment according to assigned responsibilities.
8.Perform other tasks as assigned by the company.
1.Bachelor’s degree or above in Aviation, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or related fields, 3+ years of experience in airborne equipment development or aircraft OEM development; DER qualification (airborne equipment focus) is highly preferred.
2.Proficient in FAA/EASA/CAAC airworthiness regulations and requirements.
3.Familiar with ARP4754A, DO-160G, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4761, and other airworthiness and quality standards, experience with SOI# reviews is preferred.
4.Knowledgeable in systems, software/hardware, reliability/safety/maintainability, engineering management, quality, and airworthiness; proficient in reading technical English.
5.Familiar with the airworthiness processes for both airborne equipment certification as part of type certification and standalone certification (TSO/ETSO).
6.Strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication and teamwork skills, good coordination abilities, and strong documentation skills, adept at research and analysis.
