TCab Tech Hosts ‘Exploring Future Technologies’ Summer Study Camp
Share

As a social practice base for the academic district of Xinzhuang Industrial Zone in Shanghai’s Minhang District, TCab Tech has always been committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities and focusing on youth development. This summer, TCab Tech hosted five exciting study camps, bringing together hundreds of young people on an extraordinary journey to explore electric aviation, experience technological innovation, and appreciate the exceptional charm of Chinese ingenuity.

TCab Tech assembled a dedicated team to meticulously plan the study camp activities, thoughtfully crafting interactive sessions such as “Design Your Own eVTOL” and the “eVTOL Knowledge Quiz.” These sessions combined hands-on experiences with intellectual challenges, enabling the participants to learn through active engagement and problem-solving. This approach effectively nurtured their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Throughout the camp, participants gained valuable insights into the low-altitude economy, sparking a keen interest in science while sharpening their creative thinking and practical skills.

During the study camp, students had the opportunity to tour TCab Tech’s exhibition hall, where they explored scale models, engineering prototypes, flight simulators, component equipment, and future operational concept scenarios. This immersive experience provided them with a firsthand look at the different stages of TCab Tech’s research and development. Engineers shared valuable insights into the global progress of eVTOL technology, the history of China’s low-altitude economy, and the distinctive features of the E20 eVTOL. The students were highly engaged, actively interacting and asking questions. The highlight of the camp was the simulated flight experience, where students eagerly took turns as “pilots,” relishing the thrill of “flying” the E20 from a first-person perspective.

During the interactive and hands-on sessions, TCab Tech’s engineers delivered in-depth explanations, offering students a deeper understanding of the current state of electric aviation, spacecraft structures and their working principles, eVTOL design concepts, and flight mechanics.

Guided by the engineers, the students collaborated in groups to apply their newly acquired knowledge to designing their own eVTOLs. Throughout the process, they actively exchanged ideas and learned from one another, deepening their understanding of spacecraft structures and working principles while also enjoying the experience of teamwork. The camp concluded with group competitions, where the best designs and top knowledge awards were selected.

Throughout the summer study camps, the students showcased a deep passion for learning, a rigorous scientific mindset, and a remarkable ability to explore the cutting-edge technology and applications of eVTOLs. They displayed exceptional learning skills, sharp innovative thinking, and a strong sense of teamwork. We eagerly anticipate seeing them continue to pursue their dreams with determination in the future.

The 2024 Summer Study Camp has successfully concluded, and we look forward to more exciting events in the future. We believe that ongoing youth education in technology will infuse new innovative energy into China’s technological future. TCab Tech remains committed to supporting the growth and development of young people, fulfilling its corporate mission, and upholding its social responsibility.

About TCab Tech

TCab Tech is a leading innovative enterprise specializing in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Founded by a group of engineers passionate about making Urban Air Mobility (UAM) a reality, we are committed to creating a reliable air mobility ecosystem that offers zero-emission aerial ridesharing to the public.

We envision a future where Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) reduces daily commutes, giving people more time to spend with their loved ones. We have developed the E20, a passenger-carrying, vectored-thrust eVTOL, by integrating proven aviation technologies, advanced electrification, and intelligent algorithms.

The name “TCab” is a metaphor for “time taxi,” reflecting our mission to offer the public an affordable and time-efficient means of transportation—and above all, to let everyone enjoy the joy of flight.
